Gravel / Stone Calculator

Weights assume a dry bulk density of 1600 kg/m³ for gravel, crushed stone and river sand. For lightweight or other aggregates there is no default: choose that option and enter the density from your supplier's data sheet. Reference tables give loose dry gravel at about 1522-1682 kg/m³ and dry sand at about 1602 kg/m³ (Simetric), and crushed stone at about 1602 kg/m³ (Rebulk). Wet material is heavier (wet sand about 1922, wet gravel about 2002 kg/m³ in the Simetric table), and your supplier's figure is the one to use. The result already includes 10% extra for waste and uneven ground. Crushed stone (gitti) is widely used in India for road base and construction. Prices vary by region and supplier - check locally before ordering.
