CTC (Cost to Company) is the total salary package offered by your employer, including PF contributions, gratuity, and other benefits. Your in-hand (take-home) salary is CTC minus all deductions including PF, income tax, and professional tax.
Under the new tax regime, the standard deduction of ₹75,000 applies. Slabs: 0% up to ₹4L, 5% ₹4–8L, 10% ₹8–12L, 15% ₹12–16L, 20% ₹16–20L, 25% ₹20–24L, 30% above ₹24L. A resident individual pays no tax up to ₹12L of taxable income, with marginal relief just above it. This simple estimate treats CTC ÷ 12 as your monthly gross pay and does not remove employer PF, gratuity or other non-cash parts of CTC, so your real in-hand salary may be lower (see the In-Hand Salary Calculator). It adds 4% cess and ignores surcharge, the old regime and other income. Sources: Income Tax Department memorandum on the Finance Bill 2026 and Income Tax Department FAQs.
