Estimate body weight from height and gender using four historical formulas.

Devine (1974), Robinson (1983), Miller (1983) and Hamwi (1964) are historical height-based formulas. They were not derived as health targets, they give different answers, and they add weight per inch above 5 feet (so they are not meaningful for heights under 152 cm). The average is just the mean of the four. For a healthy range, use the Healthy Weight or BMI calculator. Healthy weight depends on muscle mass, bone, age and other factors.
